For the country, for the antiques business and for our Cooperstown Antique Show in July. I proclaim it to be so!

We are getting a terrific response to our first promotion celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the show – reduced booth rates for dealers who sign up by April 16th. We already have a handful of new dealers signed up, and are hoping to get even more. In addition, of course, to the wonderful core of faithful dealers we already have!

We are brainstorming ideas of events or attractions to make this 50th Anniversary show special. We are considering live music, and more, but would love to have your input and ideas! What do you (or your customers) want? Entertainment for the kids? Appraisals? Let us know by phone or email!

I’m off this morning to a meeting with the other Cooperstown promoters, and then a visit to the printer to order posters and postcards. The contracts will be up on the website by Thursday, 3/22.

I’m not sure how it got from March to June – it’s all a bit of a blur – but we have arrived at the week of the 49th Annual Cooperstown Antique Show. The ads are in the papers, the radio ad begins airing on Thursday, the porta-potties are ordered and the spaces under the big tent are sold! We are as ready as we can be on the Tuesday before the show!

We have had great response to pre-registration for field dealers, but there is still lots of field available! We welcome inquiries in the days between now and the show and you can even drive up on Sunday morning with a loaded truck and rent a space!

The food vendor will be the same as last year – Andre’s Blue Ribbon BBQ from Colliersville. For your convenience we are going to have teenagers taking orders and running food for the dealers on the field, so that you don’t have to wait in line. As a treat DiMaggio’s from Cooperstown will be selling gelato! And of course, of primary importance, there will be coffee and donuts available at no charge in the morning.

The contracts are being finalized and the first batch of postcards are being ordered.  The short-term goal is to have the paperwork and some advertising materials ready to hand out to dealers at the Schoharie Spring show in 2 weeks.

The show will open at 9am and the admission is a scant $4.00.  Early buyers can get on the field during set-up for a fee of $20.

This promises to be a wonderful day of shopping, eating and fun.  Don’t miss it!!

Our goal for this week (aside from buying and selling, of course) is to really pound the fields at Brimfield, distributing cards and talking to folks about doing the show.

More dealers and a variety of merch on the field at Cooperstown is good for everyone! Our two-pronged plan to start improving the show this year involves improving the advertising, and filling more booths. And you can help – please pass the word to your friends, direct them to this site or email us atinfo@cooperstownantiqueshow.com and I’ll mail them a contract.

In the meantime, maybe we’ll see you at Brimfield!
